There’s just not enough time available for all the great shows that are out there. Well, add another one to the list of must see shows for the summer of 2012. Trespass America and Metal Hammer have just announced their inaugural Trespass America Tour 2012. Headlined by Five Finger Death Punch, the show’s solid bill also includes Killswitch Engage, Trivium, Pop Evil, Emmure, God Forbid and Battlecross.

Metal Hammer, the U.K.’s biggest metal magazine, has helped promote the music scene there for years and they help promote bands that they believe in. Five Finger Death Punch’s Zoltan Bathory also helped to spearhead this festival. “We will carry the flag into mainstream territory; we will trespass on their turf all across America. The combined power of Metal Hammer and all these bands enable us to make a statement, a really loud one. Heavy music wants its place back in the limelight, so get ready, because we are coming, and we are coming in numbers,” stated Bathory.

The tour kicks off July 13 at the 1st Bank Center in Broomfield, Colorado. The band gave us a little taste of what to expect when they released “Someone to Hate”. They just released the first official single and video from the album entitled “My Destiny”. It’s a song that hits home with the band as it and the video show five young teenagers growing up and having fun and discovering how important music is in their lives. It was directed by Robby Starbuck (OTEP, August Burns Red, Snoop Dog) and can be viewed below or viewed here: http://www.demonhunter.net/

Their upcoming album True Defiance is produced by Aaron Sprinkle (Anberlin,Emery) and mixed by Jason Suecoff (Trivium,All That Remains). It’s the follow-up to the very successful 2010 album The World is a Thorn. The band is entering a very important phase of their career. They are celebrating ten years of being together and rewriting the rules of rock as only they can. Lead singer Ryan Clark stated,” We've been extremely underwhelmed with metal for the last five years or so, and that's been the fuel to create this record. With an extreme over-saturation of false, fleeting, trend-hopping noise in todays metal scene, we had to make something we've been longing to hear. Something truly meaningful and artistic. Something our fans would love and something that will turn the heads of those who have ignored us for the past decade."

The band just announced that June 5 is the official release date of their much anticipated new album The Industrialist. Plus, more details are starting to be unveiled by the band creating a buzz amongst the fans. The band seems to be pushing the creative envelope this time out and have created a concept album. The sound stays true to what Fear Factory fans expect, but they also manage to work in some new ideas.

The storyline is based on an idea from lead singer Burton C. Bell. He explains the idea in a press release for the album. “It’s a futuristic tale of an automaton, striving to survive by fighting for its existence within a desperate world. The lyrics tell the story while the music takes our industrial roots and blends them more perfectly than ever with our metal edge.”

The album reunites Bell with guitarist Dino Cazares for their second effort together after a seven year split. Also on board again is Rhys Fulber who Cazares credits for being able to understand the band and what they want to accomplish better than anyone. Fulber has worked with the band on five albums, including the gold certified Obsolete, as well as two remixes. The band has also announced additional tour dates:

5/01/2012 Backstage Live – San Antonio, TX
5/02/2012 Trees – Dallas, TX
5/03/2012 Scout Bar – Houston, TX
5/05/2012 State Theater – St. Petersburg, FL
5/06/2012 Culture Room – Ft. They just announced the upcoming release of their latest album Demonocracy on April 10 on Metal Blade Records. It’s produced by Jason Seucof (Trivium, Whitechapel, Black Dahlia Murder) who was also on board for their epic 2009 album Ruination.

The band could have ridden the wave of praise from critics and fans alike after the release of Ruination, but that would have been too easy. The band wanted to keep progressing and take things to the next level, but they were met with a lineup change. Vocalist Jonny Davy, drummer Jon “Charn” Rice and guitarist Al Glassman are now joined by guitarist Tony Sannicandro and bassist Nick Schendzielos. Jon and Tony were brought on as touring members, but things began to click the longer they played together and they were made official members of the band.

The new single from the band, “Nourishment Through Bloodshed” continues the band’s onslaught of relentless hostility and aggression. This year’s convention was the biggest and craziest yet with almost 96,000 registered attendees making an appearance over the four day show.

Along with all the different products and instruments being exhibited and demoed, there’s also something else being exhibited – the musicians that use them! This year’s NAMM show featured attendance, appearances and/or autograph signings by a huge slew of artists including Dave Navarro, Opeth, Dave Lombardo and Kerry King (Slayer), Mike Portnoy, Chris Broderick, Bootsy Collins, members of Anthrax, Michael Anthony (Chickenfoot), members of Slipknot, Nicko McBrain (Iron Maiden), Munky (KoRn), Tommy Lee, members of As I Lay Dying, Rob Halford, Gus G (Ozzy Osbourne), Blue Felix, and even Stevie wonder.

And then there’s the parties! Dean Guitars put on a great bash at the Grove of Anaheim with Testament, who put on a spectacular performance, as the main event of the night, followed by a Schecter Guitars/ Jagermeister party also at The Grove with Filter and Seether performing, as well as the many other NAMM-related parties and shows going on at the Slide Bar, The Hilton, The Marriott Hotel and various other locations around Anaheim and surrounding areas.

All in all NAMM 2012 was a blast and even bigger than the year before! Check out some snaps from the show and parties below!

These guys started rocking hard long before all these new metal terms such as “metal core” were in existence. The band formed in 1992 and their debut album Vision of Disorder was released back in 1996. They experienced many ups and downs along the way and went on hiatus back in 2002, only to return for reunion shows from time to time.

The creative juices really started flowing for the guys in 2010 and they began working on new material. They took part in a U.K. run in 2011 supporting Life of Agony, Biohazard and Glassjaw. This fueled the buzz of their return and of the impending new material. In June of 2011, the band posted a new song entitled “The Enemy” online and it was met with overwhelming positive response.
The guys will start recording their upcoming album in the next month or so. They will be working with Will Putney (Shadows Fall/Suicide Silence) and Cameron Webb (Motorhead/Social Distortion). Vision of Disorder has always been regarded as one of the most innovative and admired bands that merge the two genres of hardcore and metal. 2012 should prove to be a pivot year as they ride their new found creative serge into an industry that has changed so much since their last album over ten years ago.
Due out May 22nd
12 Stones are above to unleash a new album on the world and the band has never been more focused and determined to succeed. The album is entitled Beneath the Scars and is due out on May 22. It’s the follow-up to 2007’s Anthem for the Underdog. As with that 2007 release, Skidd Mills (Saliva/Saving Abel/Skillet) is on board as producer. The first single “Infected” has been released to radio and will be available for download on iTunes and Amazon on February 28.

This release is the first for the band with their new home the Executive Music Group. This new union seems to have rejuvenated the band. Paul McCoy stated, “Thanks to EMG, we have found a new love for the industry. I think that people forget how hard it is to succeed when you don’t have the right people in place. We think that we are finally poised to break through the mold. I have never felt stronger about what we are doing and I think that this is only the beginning for this band.”

McCoy also explained that the album’s title comes from the fact that we all will fall short from goals that we impose on ourselves, but we will still continue to try. It’s all about coming to an understanding that we are all human and we’re all so very much alike. The band has released a lyrical video for “Infected” which can be seen at http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=T2nfwK4f4LE .

You may ask yourself, isn’t that a contradiction in terms? Not necessarily so, especially when you’re talking about artists such as John 5. He’s known to many as Rob Zombie’s right hand man. He just announced the upcoming release of his new solo album.

May 8 will see John 5 unleash God Told Me To on the world. It’s a ten track CD/DVD that will continue to push the musical envelope and break new ground. Produced by John along with Chris Baseford (Rob Zombie/Tommy Lee) and Bob Marlette (Sebastian Bach/Black Sabbath), the album is a mix of both acoustic and electronically influenced music. Also included will be John’s recording of “Beat It”, a tribute to Michael Jackson and Eddie Van Halen. It comes out just days before John 5 joins Rob Zombie for his co-headlining tour with thrash icons Megadeth.

The DVD included with the release will include studio footage, videos shot while on tour as well as a peek inside the photo shoot for John’s 2011 remix album Remixploitation. 2012 will see John 5 continue to break from the preconceived notion of what he is suppose to do by working with such diverse acts Lynyrd Skynyrd and Rod Stewart. He’s also working hard on the latest effort from Mr. Zombie which is due out later this year.

JOHN 5 Performing with ROB ZOMBIE on Co-Headliner with MEGADETH:
5/11 Holmdel, NJ @ PNC Bank Arts Center
5/12 Scranton, PA @ Toyota Pavilion
5/16 Pittsburgh, PA@ Stage AE
5/18 Grand Rapids, MI @ The Deltaplex
5/20 Columbus, OH @ Columbus Crew Stadium (Rock On The Range)
5/22 La Crosse, WI @ La Crosse Center
5/24 Sioux City, IA @ Tyson Center
5/25 Wichita, KS @ Hartman Arena
5/26 Pryor, OK @ Fever Music Festival Grounds (Rocklahoma)

It marked the band’s 10th anniversary. It also saw them headline a very successful tour in November and December called The Decade of Destruction Tour. The band shot quite a bit of live concert footage during those shows and decided to put it to good use. Their own Nick Hipa edited the footage and put together a video for “Paralyzed” from their Decas album. The clip can be seen here at the band’s You Tube channel: http://www.youtube.com/asilaydying .

The guys are currently writing material for their fifth album. They plan on entering the studio in April. More info, such as producer, title and artwork, will be revealed in the coming months. Hopefully, fans will be able to hear some of this new material as the band will be part of this summer’s Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival. Dates and more info on that tour can be found at www.rockstarmayhemfest.com .
It will be included on the reissuing of their self titled album. Guitarist Mark Holcomb issued the following statement, “Hey everyone, I hope you guys dig the re-recording of “Passengers”. We wanted to include a bonus song specifically for the re-issue of the self-titled record, and since I had just joined the band at the time we were deciding which song to include. Basically, it made a ton of sense to go ahead and re-record this one and release it as a Periphery song. Stylistically it always made a ton of sense to do so, and since the song was originally written myself, Misha and Spencer, it always kind of felt like a Periphery song anyways! So, enjoy it and remember, this isn’t a track from the new album session – it’s only for the re-release of the self-titled record. Get pumped for the new stuff. Much love!”

The newly re-recorded version of “Passengers” is available now exclusively at iTunes at http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/passenger-single/id503938160 .
