CANCER BATS To Release “Dead Set On Living”
Dead Set On Living: April 24, 2012
Fans of the CANCER BATS are going to be happy come April 24, 2012. The band is poised to release their fourth full-length album via Metal Blade records entitled Dead Set On Living. The Canadian hardcore rock band just released a single and video for “Old Blood”. The guys again went with producers Kenny Luong and Eric Ratz on this new release.
It’s the follow-up the 2010’s Bears, Mayors, Scraps and Bones. Fans may remember that album as having a bit of a darker edge to it. This new album does examine the relationship of both the dark and the light side in life, but it leans more towards making your way through those dark times and finding the positive in them. The title track tells of a friend of the band who was gravely ill in the hospital, but dug deep to find the will to survive.
There is still plenty of good old killer music on here too as in the awesome adrenalized first single “Old Blood” as well as ”Bastards”, which features appearances by DevilDriver’s Dez Fafara and An Horse’s Kate Cooper. Also making a guest appearance on the album is Rob Urbinati of Sacrifice on the track “R.A.T.S.”.
The band is planning a crazy Pentagram Tour during which they will play six shows in five different venues within a 24 hour period. The locations of the shows, when joined together, form the shape of a pentagram. The fans reaction was incredibly positive as all six shows sold-out in the first week. The band plans a spring cross-Canada tour in support of the new album with dates to be announced later.
“We’re so stoked to be back in the Metal Blade family! We got to know so many amazing people at the label when we were a part of Black Market Activities and now it’s so rad that we’re part of the Metal Blade roster! So many awesome people work at the label and they put out so many sweet bands. I couldn’t be more stoked,” Liam Joseph Cormier of the Cancer Bats.
