It looks like it’s time to invest in more sun block and to start planning a major road trip. The sixth annual ROCK ON THE RANGE has just unveiled their lineup for 2012 and it is massive. The 3 day long rock and roll mini-camp will be May 18-20 in Columbus, Ohio at the Columbus Crew Stadium. There will be 3 stages, 44 bands and three days of non-stop rock and roll excitement.
Poland’s ambassadors of grind metal have just announced they are coming back home to their old label Selfmadegod Records. The band split with the label and released two albums with Relapse Records. They are involved in a 3 way split album with The Kill and Noisear as well as a MCD release entitled Stop The Chaos.
Protest The Hero Invade The U.S. Again!
Those crazy Canadian progressive metal guys known as PROTEST THE HERO want to see their U.S. fans one more time. The band just released tour dates for the third and final U.S. tour for their critically acclaimed album Scurrilous. They released that album way back in march of 2011 and have been touring off of it like madmen.
THE SIXPOUNDER Signs with Universal
Poland’s The Sixpounder definitely knows how to make the most out of an opportunity. Lead singer Filip Salapa was on their national television talent show The Voice of Poland and reached the semi-finals. The prize was the chance to be trained by Nergal, lead vocalist of the blackened death metal band Behemoth.
14th Annual Punk Rock Bowling and Music Festival
Bowling alleys are just about in everyone’s neighborhood. Ours has a rock and bowling night where they blast metal tunes over the PA system. Well, nobody combines music and bowling quite like Shawn and Mark Stern of BYO Records. The guys put together a festival called Punk Rock Bowling back in 1999 as a way to bring together independent music in the community.
Punk is coming to your town soon and it’s not that emo punk that you see in magazines. This is real punk from the iconic band The Casualties. They have a nationwide tour, called the Hardcore Warriors Tour 2012, that they are headlining that is set to launch on February 27 in Tempe, Arizona.
CANCER BATS To Release “Dead Set On Living”
Fans of the Cancer Bats are going to be happy come April 24, 2012. The band is poised to release their fourth full-length album via Metal Blade records entitled Dead Set On Living. The Canadian hardcore rock band just released a single and video for “Old Blood”.

Modern Day Escape just finished up a highly successful Something Wicked This Way Comes Tour with Wednesday 13 and Aiden. Their series of dates in January was detailed in a tour blog by guitarist Mark Burn. The blog itself was featured on GuitarWorld.com
The progressive metal powerhouse known as NOTHNEGAL is set to release their first official full length album entitled Decadence on February 28, 2012 in North America. It’s the follow-up to their self-released Antidote of Realism EP in 2009. The five member band hailing from Male recently posted a sneak peek as to what fans are in store for on Season of Mist’s You Tube Channel.

We got a chance to sit down with Mike Hranica (vocals) of THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA on the last date of the U.S. leg of their "DEAD THRONE Tour." Mike spoke with Evil G. about the tour being the headliner, wrapping up in their home state of Ohio saying it was the perfect tour. He also talks about the accomplishment the band feels about DEAD THRONE and much more!
On the final date of their tour with The Devil Wears Prada we got the opportunity to sit down with Alex Wade (guitar) of WHITECHAPEL. Evil G. looks back over some of the high points for the band in 2011, discuss details from their EP Recorrupted, the single "Section 8," their “Strength Beyond Strength” Pantera cover and the remixes on the EP.
